Partnership

We are proud to announce the official partnership between the Deledda Master in Creative Writing & Translation and the New York Writers Workshop (NYWW), one of the most dynamic and internationally recognized institutions in the field of creative writing education.
This collaboration establishes a lasting bridge between Sardinia and New York — between European literary tradition and American narrative innovation — offering our students a truly international academic experience.

Beginning next academic year, the partnership includes the organization of New York Writers Workshop Summer Sessions in Sardinia.

These summer sessions will:

• be open to Italian and international students
• take place in Sardinia, within a unique cultural and natural setting
• combine intensive writing workshops, seminars, public readings, and networking opportunities
• be led by NYWW faculty members and affiliated writers

Sardinia will thus become a meeting ground for languages, literary traditions, and creative practices, fostering dialogue between the Mediterranean and the English-speaking world.

The collaboration extends beyond summer programming and is structurally integrated into the Deledda Master through three main areas:

1. International Faculty

The New York Writers Workshop will contribute:

• visiting professors and established writers
• thematic masterclasses
• online and in-person seminars
• selected one-on-one mentorship opportunities

Students will gain direct access to professionals active in the Anglo-American publishing market and benefit from an international perspective on both writing and literary translation.

2. Teaching Methodologies

NYWW will bring to the program:

• the American workshop model based on structured peer review
• practice-oriented approaches focused on publication pathways
• advanced editing and revision techniques
• methods for developing a distinctive authorial voice

The integration of the Anglo-American workshop tradition with European literary sensibility represents one of the distinctive strengths of the program.

3. Marketing & International Positioning

The partnership also includes strategic collaboration in marketing and international outreach:
