ACCREDITATION & CREDITS

The Deledda Master in Creative Writing & Translation is offered by SSML San Domenico, a university-level higher education institution authorized by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research.

DEGREE & CERTIFICATION

Upon successful completion of all academic requirements, students are awarded the Master in Creative Writing & Translation

The degree certifies advanced training in creative writing and, where applicable, literary translation, completed within an international, low-residency academic framework

STRUCTURE & TIMELINE

Graduation Requirements

  • Participation in at least three in-person residency sessions
  • Completion of four home-based semesters of mentored creative work
  • The submission of a final creative thesis, completed during the fourth semester

Example Timeline

To facilitate participation by international students, the program normally includes two residency sessions per year. Each residency lasts six working days and is typically scheduled during the last week of November and the last week of May.

YEAR 1

Winter Residency (WR #1) — November 2026
followed by Semester 1 (home-based mentoring)
Summer Residency (SR #2) — May 2027
followed by Semester 2 (home-based mentoring)

YEAR 2

Winter Residency (WR #3) — November 2027
followed by Semester 3 (home-based mentoring)
Semester 4 (home-based mentoring)
completion of the final creative thesis
